About Gunner Decker and Ideal Landscape Group
Gunner brings more than 10 years of experience in the landscape industry to the team at Ideal Landscape Group. He first developed his interest in the green industry while in High School working in the school greenhouses and eventually operating his own greenhouse from home growing vegetable and native plants. Gunner is an Illinois native who graduated in 2016 from Murray State University in Murray Kentucky with a Horticulture/ Agriculture Science Degree. After graduation he moved to the St. Louis area to pursue his career in the Green Industry starting off as a Horticultural Representative, as well as working for Monsanto conducting crop research. Eventually, Gunner found his way back outdoors in the commercial landscape industry as an Account Manager. Involved in several Horticulturally related Clubs and Volunteer groups around the St. Louis Metro Area, Gunner continues to spread the word of the best horticulture practices as well as how to incorporate beneficial plant material to every setting of your landscape.
Founded by current president Dave Buckel in 1985, the company started from a one-man operation in the early days. As demand for commercial landscape projects increased, Dave’s Lawn & Landscape Services decided to switch its focus from residential to high-end grounds maintenance services. After our capabilities and credentials steadily grew, the need arose to create a brand that our customers could identify with and one that could take us into the future. In 2003 we became Ideal Landscape Group and continue today to operate as one of St. Louis’ most trusted landscape management company. Ideal Landscape Group is based in south St. Louis County. We are a commercial landscape company offering professional landscape design, construction, and property maintenance services. Ideal Landscape Management partners with approximately 250 commercial clients annually to provide contractual landscape management services. Ideal Landscape Group is the parent company of Ideal Landscape Management, Inc. and Ideal Landscape Construction, Inc.
